Intention

Becoming Her begins where the ceremony ends. If bridalwear often concerns itself with the moment a woman becomes a bride, this collection asks what happens after that moment has passed. It considers womanhood not as a single transformation, but as a continuous process of becoming: shaped by experience, rest, friendship, movement, change, and the quieter decisions through which identity is formed. At the centre of the collection is the dragonfly, chosen as a symbol of growth, freedom, evolution, and transformation. Its presence reflects the idea that becoming is never a final destination, but an ongoing relationship with oneself. Through Becoming Her, RBA expands the conversation beyond bridal identity and into the broader emotional life of the woman who wears the clothes. The collection is less concerned with who she is expected to become and more interested in who she is allowing herself to be, creating space for femininity to feel fluid, intimate, and entirely her own.

Approach

The collection moves away from the formality of traditional bridalwear and into a softer, more lived-in wardrobe of robes, silk separates, relaxed tailoring, scarves, and fluid silhouettes. The intention was to create pieces that could move naturally through different moments of a woman’s life, from bridal preparation and travel to rest, leisure, and everyday intimacy. The dragonfly motif appears throughout as a quiet visual thread, giving the collection continuity without overpowering its sense of ease. Fabrics are allowed to fall naturally against the body, while the construction remains considered and precise, creating a balance between comfort and refinement. Colour, print, and proportion are used with restraint, allowing the woman rather than the garment to remain at the centre of the experience. In this way, Becoming Her extends the RBA universe beyond the wedding day, creating clothing that acknowledges transformation while remaining useful, personal, and relevant long after a single occasion has passed.
